The second film coming to Cinema Now from Slovenia is the drama/comedy Neću da budem luzerka (My Last Year as a Loser), directed by Urše Menart.
Špela is almost thirty years old. She graduated from the history of art but has never held full-time employment. Unlike her two best friends who moved abroad a few years back and don’t plan on returning home, Špela insists on staying put in Ljubljana, even though most of her social life is confined to Skype. When she finds herself back on the couch of her disappointed parents, penniless and without a job, or friends, she realizes that growing up is much harder than she previously imagined.
The film stars Eva Jesenovec, Živa Selan, Saša Pavček, Branko Završan, Špela Rozin, Jurij Drevenšek, Tina Potočnik Vrhovnik, Lara Vouk, Timon Šturbej, Aljaž Jovanović and Matic Lukšič. The director of photography is Darko Herić, while the score was composed by Simon Penšek, and it was produced by Danijel Hočevar.
