No movie can be successful if all the links in the production chain of this movie are not equally strong. And which link in production chain should be the most important and the strongest if not the producer himself! This somewhat mystical profession to the ordinary man carries many unknowns, but every professional in this field knows exactly when and what to do in order for the film to really capture the audience and criticism. Although there are many schools that deal with film production, the true producer is aware of the importance of further training. It is acquired through new theoretical, and especially practical knowledge, as well as by exchanging experiences and networking with colleagues.
One of the organizations that provides this is the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs – EAVE. The combination of the tradition that has been nurturing since 1988. and the experience, the belief that support for culture, independent individuals, their creativity and imagination are necessary in the 21st century has led to the launch of one of their most important projects – EAVE Producers Workshop. Every year, 50 young film producers from Europe (recently even wider) gather in this workshop, who have one feature film behind them. Each year, the program consists of three one-week workshops.
And this year second workshop is held in Novi Sad from June 20 to 27 (the first workshop was held in Luxembourg and the third will be in Leipzig). This is a great incentive for the development of the film industry in Novi Sad, because there were 50 European producers and 20 experts in the field of film production and distribution that participated in the workshop and that presented their work to local authors through presentations, as well as possibilities for cooperation with colleagues from Novi Sad. Also, 20 local filmmakers and professionals went through a special educational program, while some parts of workshops were open to public and were attended by about 60 professionals.
EAVE @Novi Sad has offered local professionals a special program with top experts from the European film industry. The themes are a unique digital market, a digital strategy at the stage of launching the project from an angle of the producer, specific issues and challenges in the process of documentary film development, and an EAVE program that has launched careers for many.
The EAVE session in Novi Sad is being realized in cooperation with the Film Center of Serbia, the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, the MEDIA Board of Serbia, the Cinema City Association and the European Film Festival Palić. The EAVE program is supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA sub-programs of the European Union, Luxembourg Film Fund, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Center National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée, Audiovisual Friuli Venezia Giulia, PACT – Cinema do Brasil , Polish Film Institute, Doha Film Institute, Canadian Telefilm, Berlinale Co-Production Market and partners who hosted workshops since 1988.
